It starts with MEN
'16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence', #WhiteRibbonCampaign - campaign after campaign to end violence against women and girls, we rose in rage of hope when we were teenagers and now our daughters continue in the same vain ... when will the relentless misogyny and violence STOP?
It starts with MEN... real men are allies and feminists, they don't fear equality and understand and speak out. The issues and the language is a problem worldwide! We need to cut out the stereotypes starting with 'boys will be boys' as an excuse for violent, discriminatory behaviour and never make an excuse like 'it's just a bit of banter'.
Grateful to Matt, Jack, Habib and Ali for their time (still looking for more participants in the project) and their courage to stand out and speak up visibly to express #ZeroTolerance for violence against women and girls, and show their ally-ship in their everyday actions. My 4 comrades wear a panjabi with cyanotypes showing documentary images of the struggle - some made in UK, some in Bangladesh and filled with meadow flowers to root us to nature and nurture our connectedness.
